ANNUAL PARK SERVE DAY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 26, 2014 FROM 9 am TO NOON
The Maudslay State Park Association held a meeting on March 20 to discuss plans for the Spring which will include a trails cleanup day. This will be in conjunction with the state wide Park Serve Day that will be conducted at all of the state parks on that weekend. Maudslay is scheduled for April 26, Sunday. Much needs to be done to clear up winter debris and damage. Check back for details as we get closer to the day.
During the course of the year, Park Work Days are scheduled to assist the park personnel in the maintenance of the Park. Budget cuts, overwhelmed Park personnel, too little time, too much work, all combine to make the job of park maintenance a big undertaking.
You can help by volunteering for one or more of the Work Days that are scheduled throughout the year. The work days benefit all Park users and can involve tending to the gardens and plantings to clearing trails of winter and storm debris. The work is not hard, involves only a few hours of your time and will contribute so much to the health of the Park and its continued enjoyment.
Even if you can't contribute to the physical labor, much can be done to help including providing snacks, water, advertising, transportation.
Work Days will be posted - check this page frequently.
